Thornton Heath Gas Safety Certificates

Before properties can receive their Thornton Heath Gas Safety Certificates, they must be successful in a range of assessments for gas leaks, installation flaws, ventilation issues, signs of inappropriate use, standing and operational pressures and flue effectiveness. All of these assessments can be undertaken by PGS engineers.

If as a landlord you are unable to provide valid Thornton Heath Gas Safety Certificates for your gas appliances, then the penalties can be severe. Your property insurance could be invalidated, and since as a landlord you are responsible for this aspect of your tenants’ safety, if the failure was to lead to a carbon monoxide fatality you could even be charged with manslaughter.

To work with gas, and award Thornton Heath Gas Safety Certificates, to rental dwellings, engineers now have to be Gas Safe approved – as a result, CORGI is now just a membership organisation. All PGS plumbers are Gas Safe approved and able to serve all your gas-related requirements.

Landlords cannot obtain Thornton Heath Gas Safety Certificates for their properties until specific safety tests are completed, and the results are of an acceptable standard to your plumber. The tenant should then be issued with a copy of the certificate within 28 days and the landlord should store a copy for two years.

For Thornton Heath Gas Safe Certificates which include up to two appliances, you will pay £90, and for any further certificates you will pay £25 for each one – these are also available from your PGS Gas Safe endorsed technician. If maintenance or repairs are necessary in advance of awarding the certificates, you will pay for this work on a separate basis.
