CR8 Gas Safety Certificates

The punishment for not having official CR8 Gas Safety Certificates can range from fines to a criminal conviction depending on the consequences. As a landlord you are responsible for the safety of your tenant and if the tenant is in any way injured as a result of an unsafe appliance, you are responsible in the eyes of the law and could therefore face prosecution.

For up to two domestic devices, CR8 Gas Safety Certificates cost 90, with certificates beyond this costing 25 each and being available directly from your PGS Gas Safe certified technician. Repairs that are essential for granting the gas safety certificates will be priced on an individual basis.

To gain the CR8 Gas Safety Certificates for your properties, an inspection must be made and approved by a suitable engineer. The authorised specialist will award the relevant certificates once all appliances have been inspected and any safety issues have been resolved, and then the landlord is required to give the tenant a duplicate within 28 days and for two years keep a duplicate themselves.
