Oxshott Gas Safety Certificates

British regulations stipulate that landlords must have their rented housing evaluated by a Gas Safe certified professional no less than once per year. At PGS, our certified professionals can complete these evaluations and present the required Oxshott Gas Safety Certificates to property owners.

It is often the rental agent who arranges for a Gas Safe endorsed technician to visit a property and grant Oxshott Gas Safety Certificates. However, this responsibility should be formally documented within your property management contract, and the Health and Safety Executive encourages you to get copies of details relating to all gas safety-related work performed to ensure it meets all legal demands.

It can be difficult to recall exactly when your Oxshott Gas Safety Certificates are up for renewal, or when your next annual safety evaluation is called for, particularly if you have a large property portfolio. To help resolve this problem, and prevent inadvertent regulation infringements, PGS provides a safety check prompting service for landlords and agents.

Oxshott Gas Safety Certificates will only be given out to landlords once their property has been checked by an engineer and all safety issues have been resolved. Once the certificates are provided, the landlord should pass a copy onto the tenants within 28 days, and keep a copy for two years also.

The punishment for not having official Oxshott Gas Safety Certificates can range from fines to a criminal conviction depending on the consequences. As a landlord you are responsible for the safety of your tenant and if the tenant is in any way injured as a result of an unsafe appliance, you are responsible in the eyes of the law and could therefore face prosecution.
