N11 Gas Safety Certificates

When a PGS engineer visits a rental property in order to complete a gas safety check, they will inspect all gas equipment for, amongst other things, signs of leaks, misuse, poor aeration, and flue efficiency including rust removal. N11 Gas Safety Certificates will be awarded once these inspections are complete.

CORGI registration used to be the thing to look out for if you required a qualified gas expert. Now Gas Safe registration is the core requirement for anyone who works with gas and at PGS, our Gas Safe certified experts are able to meet all your gas needs, including the provision of N11 Gas Safety Certificates.

It can be difficult to recall exactly when your N11 Gas Safety Certificates are up for renewal, or when your next annual safety evaluation is called for, particularly if you have a large property portfolio. To help resolve this problem, and prevent inadvertent regulation infringements, PGS provides a safety check prompting service for landlords and agents.

Some landlords mistakenly think that if there are no gas appliances in a rented room then N11 Gas Safety Certificates are unnecessary. However, if the building in question contains a gas supply a valid certificate is still essential, and PGS is able to provide advice and guidance for you if you are uncertain of what your building needs.

N11 Gas Safety Certificates will only be granted after our engineers are satisfied that the property has been examined, and is convinced there are no remaining safety concerns. The tenant should be given a copy of the certificate within 28 days, and the landlord should hold onto a copy for two years.
