N13 Gas Safety Certificates

When one of our engineers visits a rental property in order to carry out a gas safety check, it might be necessary to repair or service an appliance before N13 Gas Safety Certificates can be issued. This can usually be carried out during the same visit, at a reduced cost.

UK law requires that all rental properties must pass examinations by a professional plumber before N13 Gas Safety Certificates can be issued. PGS can provide this service and complete these examinations, which include checking for gas leaks, unsafe installations, a build-up of combustion outputs due to inadequate ventilation and abnormal operating or standing pressures.

PGS’s reminder service is designed to make sure landlords and agents stay on track with their next gas safety inspection and N13 Gas Safety Certificates update. By keeping track on when these checks next need to be completed, it is easy for you to make sure all your properties are always safety certified.

Some landlords mistakenly think that if there are no gas appliances in a rented room then N13 Gas Safety Certificates are unnecessary. However, if the building in question contains a gas supply a valid certificate is still essential, and PGS is able to provide advice and guidance for you if you are uncertain of what your building needs.

Individuals who work with gas now have to be Gas Safe authorised, rather than registered with CORGI. Gas Safe authorisation is also required to undertake gas safety inspections and to provide N13 Gas Safety Certificates for rented housing, and all PGS technicians are Gas Safe approved and can work with landlords and letting agents to certify properties as gas safe.
