NW10 Gas Safety Certificates

UK law requires that all rental properties must pass examinations by a professional plumber before NW10 Gas Safety Certificates can be issued. PGS can provide this service and complete these examinations, which include checking for gas leaks, unsafe installations, a build-up of combustion outputs due to inadequate ventilation and abnormal operating or standing pressures.

PGS Gas Safe certified experts can provide NW10 Gas Safety Certificates for up to two electrical devices at a rate of £75, with supplementary certificates available for £20 each. However, any work that needs to be done before cerficates can be issued will be charged in addition to this.

Landlords that do not have the required NW10 Gas Safety Certificates in place can face significant punishment. For example, your building and contents insurance may be annulled and if your neglect causes a tenant to die of carbon monoxide poisoning, you could be prosecuted.

In order to be able to grant rental properties the required NW10 Gas Safety Certificates, and undertake gas product repairs and maintenance, plumbers must now be Gas Safe, rather than CORGI, registered. All of PGS’s plumbers are Gas Safe certified, and can therefore support all of a landlord’s gas safety needs.

If your rental agent arranges for a Gas Safe authorised specialist to assess your property, and supply NW10 Gas Safety Certificates, this should be stated in your contract with the agent. The Health and Safety Executive also advises you to request copies of all maintenance information so that you can be confident your property is safe and law abiding.
