Hampstead Gas Safety Certificates
The cost of Hampstead Gas Safety Certificates for up to two appliances is £69, and your PGS Gas Safe registered engineer can issue certificates for additional appliances for £20 each. Any repairs or replacements that need to be done before the certificates can be issued will be charged on top of this.
Individuals who work with gas now have to be Gas Safe authorised, rather than registered with CORGI. Gas Safe authorisation is also required to undertake gas safety inspections and to provide Hampstead Gas Safety Certificates for rented housing, and all PGS technicians are Gas Safe approved and can work with landlords and letting agents to certify properties as gas safe.
We know that landlords and letting agents can sometimes lose track of when their Hampstead Gas Safety Certificates need completing again, or when the next safety test is required. As a result PGS has developed a service whereby landlords and letting agents are notified in a timely manner to book their next visit.
Regardless of whether it is a rental agent or you as the landlord who appoints the Gas Safe sanctioned plumber to provide Hampstead Gas Safety Certificates, you should always obtain duplicates of all details of the work completed, according to the Health and Safety Executive. Furthermore, the contract between you and the agent should make it apparent who is legally responsible for scheduling tests and servicing appointments.
To obtain the necessary Hampstead Gas Safety Certificates the property must be evaluated by a qualified technician. A certificate will only be supplied once the technician is happy the property’s gas system is completely safe, at which point the tenant should be provided a copy of the certificate within 28 days, and the landlord should retain a copy for two years.
