Hendon Gas Safety Certificates

There can be major consequences for you as a landlord if you do not have legitimate Hendon Gas Safety Certificates in place for your properties. Consequences may include withdrawal of insurance and, in some cases, even criminal prosecution where the tenant’s safety is put in danger from carbon monoxide-related leaks.

Landlords that use an agent to manage their buildings should ensure that the management contract specifies who will organise for a Gas Safe qualified plumber to undertake the required safety checks and issue Hendon Gas Safety Certificates. The Health and Safety Executive also recommend that landlords obtain copies of all gas-related documentation to ensure it is legitimate.

Gas safety rules can be difficult to interpret, particularly in cases where only certain rooms in a property with a gas supply are let. PGS has a thorough understanding of the gas safety rules and can therefore help you find out whether your property requires Hendon Gas Safety Certificates.

At PGS, we charge £75 for Hendon Gas Safety Certificates which cover up to two appliances, and £20 for each extra certificate you purchase from your Gas Safe endorsed technician. If any repairs or exchanges are called for before we can issue the certificates, these will be priced alongside the other costs.

Individuals who work with gas now have to be Gas Safe authorised, rather than registered with CORGI. Gas Safe authorisation is also required to undertake gas safety inspections and to provide Hendon Gas Safety Certificates for rented housing, and all PGS technicians are Gas Safe approved and can work with landlords and letting agents to certify properties as gas safe.
