RM1 Gas Safety Certificates

Landlords that do not have the required RM1 Gas Safety Certificates in place can face significant punishment. For example, your building and contents insurance may be annulled and if your neglect causes a tenant to die of carbon monoxide poisoning, you could be prosecuted.

Knowing exactly when your property’s RM1 Gas Safety Certificates need to be renewed, or when your next annual safety visit is due, can be stressful to manage. To make things a little easier for you and prevent any unintentional legal breaches, PGS offers a reminder service.

Our Gas Safe approved technicians always try to make any necessary repairs before the RM1 Gas Safety Certificates can be issued, while they perform the gas safety assessment. By doing all the work in one visit to your rented property we minimise the amount we charge.

Landlords are obliged by law to make sure their rented properties with a gas supply are examined by a Gas Safe endorsed engineer every year. With our sufficiently qualified and Gas Safe endorsed engineers, PGS is well placed to conduct the essential examinations and grant RM1 Gas Safety Certificates.

Landlords cannot obtain RM1 Gas Safety Certificates for their properties until specific safety tests are completed, and the results are of an acceptable standard to your plumber. The tenant should then be issued with a copy of the certificate within 28 days and the landlord should store a copy for two years.
