SE21 Gas Safety Certificates

SE21 Gas Safety Certificates will only be given out to landlords once their property has been checked by an engineer and all safety issues have been resolved. Once the certificates are provided, the landlord should pass a copy onto the tenants within 28 days, and keep a copy for two years also.

If a rental agent manages your property, you should make sure that the management contract specifies who will take charge of acquiring SE21 Gas Safety Certificates. As advised by the Health and Safety Executive, you should always demand copies of the resulting documentation for all work carried out, so you be confident your property meets all its legal obligations.

With PGS, up to two appliances will set you back 90 for the SE21 Gas Safe Certificates, and our Gas Safe trained engineers can also provide certificates for any other equipment at a cost of 25 per item. Any accompanying repair work will be charged in addition to the certificate costs.

Some landlords mistakenly think that if there are no gas appliances in a rented room then SE21 Gas Safety Certificates are unnecessary. However, if the building in question contains a gas supply a valid certificate is still essential, and PGS is able to provide advice and guidance for you if you are uncertain of what your building needs.

Gas Safe Registration has now superseded CORGI as the required qualification for any individual who wants to work with gas supplies and products in the UK. In order to be able to award SE21 Gas Safety Certificates we make sure all of our technicians at PGS are Gas Safe registered.
