Stockwell Gas Safety Certificates

By law, rental properties must have a gas safety check carried out every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer. At PGS, our engineers are Gas Safe registered so are able to carry out these checks and issue the necessary Stockwell Gas Safety Certificates to landlords.

As a property owner, if you do not have Stockwell Gas Safety Certificates you can be severely punished. In most cases not having a certificate will result in your insurance be invalidated; however, if there is an accident relating to the gas supply, such as carbon monoxide leaks, as the landlord you could actually be prosecuted.

Gas safety rules can be difficult to interpret, particularly in cases where only certain rooms in a property with a gas supply are let. PGS has a thorough understanding of the gas safety rules and can therefore help you find out whether your property requires Stockwell Gas Safety Certificates.

To be awarded with Stockwell Gas Safety Certificates, dwellings must first pass an inspection by a certified technician. Once granted, copies of the certificates have to be provided to the tenant within 28 days and the landlord needs to, for at least two years, keep a copy too.

Rental properties must pass a number of checks in order to earn their Stockwell Gas Safety Certificates, and these can all be carried out by a PGS engineer. These include checks for gas leaks, installation defects, ventilation, evidence of unsafe operation, standing and working pressures and flue flow to ensure the removal of products of combustion.
