W2 Gas Safety Certificates
Our Gas Safe authorised specialists are able to issue W2 Gas Safety Certificates for one or two domestic appliances at a cost of £75, with extra certificates each costing £20. If any maintenance work needs to be carried out before we can award the certificates, this will be charged as a separate fee.
Most rented properties with a gas supply will require W2 Gas Safety Certificates and this includes cases where the let rooms do not contain gas-fired heating or appliances. PGS can provide landlords and letting agents with expert advice on what accreditation is required based on their thorough knowledge of gas safety regulations.
It can be difficult for landlords to keep track of when their W2 Gas Safety Certificates are due for renewal or their regular inspections need to be completed. This is why PGS offer a reminder service, whereby you are automatically informed when your gas safety checks are required.
By law, rental properties must have a gas safety check carried out every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer. At PGS, our engineers are Gas Safe registered so are able to carry out these checks and issue the necessary W2 Gas Safety Certificates to landlords.
Landlords and letting agents who do not have the required W2 Gas Safety Certificates can face tough penalties. These will usually include the invalidation of your insurance and may even extend to criminal prosecution for manslaughter in carbon monoxide poisoning, or gas explosion, cases, as you are liable for the safety of your tenants.
