Kensington Gas Safety Certificates

Knowing exactly when your property’s Kensington Gas Safety Certificates need to be renewed, or when your next annual safety visit is due, can be stressful to manage. To make things a little easier for you and prevent any unintentional legal breaches, PGS offers a reminder service.

With PGS, Kensington Gas Safety Certificates for one or two appliances cost £90, and our Gas Safe accredited plumbers can provide supplementary certificates for £25 per appliance. Any maintenance work undertaken before the certificates can be provided is charged separately and in addition to the cost of the certificates.

Landlords that do not have the required Kensington Gas Safety Certificates in place can face significant punishment. For example, your building and contents insurance may be annulled and if your neglect causes a tenant to die of carbon monoxide poisoning, you could be prosecuted.

In order to qualify for Kensington Gas Safety Certificates, rental accommodation must undergo a range of tests, including those for leaks, installation faults, aeration issues, evidence of misuse and flue efficiency. All these essential tests can be completed by a PGS qualified plumber to ensure the effective working order of your gas equipment.

Buildings with a gas supply, where some of the rooms are rented out, need Kensington Gas Safety Certificates, despite the fact the rented areas may not contain gas heating.
