CR0 Gas Safety Certificates

If a letting agent manages your property you should make sure it is clear who is responsible for gaining CR0 Gas Safety Certificates from a Gas Safe endorsed technician. However, the Health and Safety Executive suggest that the property owner should also keep copies of all gas safety repair or maintenance so you know your property is legally safe.

Before properties can receive their CR0 Gas Safety Certificates, they must be successful in a range of assessments for gas leaks, installation flaws, ventilation issues, signs of inappropriate use, standing and operational pressures and flue effectiveness. All of these assessments can be undertaken by PGS engineers.

For up to two domestic devices, CR0 Gas Safety Certificates cost 90, with certificates beyond this costing 25 each and being available directly from your PGS Gas Safe certified technician. Repairs that are essential for granting the gas safety certificates will be priced on an individual basis.

As a landlord, not obtaining the necessary CR0 Gas Safety Certificates for your properties is significantly risky. For example, insurance policies can be withdrawn immediately and, even more worryingly, because you are liable for the tenant’s safety with respect to the gas supply, if the tenant was harmed because of poorly maintained gas appliances, you could face prosecution and even prison.

In order to be able to grant rental properties the required CR0 Gas Safety Certificates, and undertake gas product repairs and maintenance, plumbers must now be Gas Safe, rather than CORGI, registered. All of PGS’s plumbers are Gas Safe certified, and can therefore support all of a landlord’s gas safety needs.
