Nork Gas Safety Certificates

If as a landlord you are unable to provide valid Nork Gas Safety Certificates for your gas appliances, then the penalties can be severe. Your property insurance could be invalidated, and since as a landlord you are responsible for this aspect of your tenants’ safety, if the failure was to lead to a carbon monoxide fatality you could even be charged with manslaughter.

It can be difficult for landlords to keep track of when their Nork Gas Safety Certificates are due for renewal or their regular inspections need to be completed. This is why PGS offer a reminder service, whereby you are automatically informed when your gas safety checks are required.

Nork Gas Safety Certificates will only be given out to landlords once their property has been checked by an engineer and all safety issues have been resolved. Once the certificates are provided, the landlord should pass a copy onto the tenants within 28 days, and keep a copy for two years also.

For Nork Gas Safe Certificates which include up to two appliances, you will pay £90, and for any further certificates you will pay £25 for each one – these are also available from your PGS Gas Safe endorsed technician. If maintenance or repairs are necessary in advance of awarding the certificates, you will pay for this work on a separate basis.

When one of our gas safety professionals completes a rented housing inspection, they will determine whether any repairs are needed before the Nork Gas Safety Certificates are provided. Wherever possible, they will look to complete this work during the appointment, thereby saving you money.
